Chanel’s Version of the Platform

Posted in Shoes, Structure & Form by Michelle on January 4, 2011

Is this for real? WordPress says this is my 100th post? I must post a lot…

I love Chanel’s take on the platform for their Spring 2011 line. I especially love the knotted rib-caged platforms (below, at left) in yellow, black, and grey. I want! I want!!! The cutout at the heel totally revamps the old platform a la Skater Girl. Vintage inspired, no?

Dust Off Your Knuckle Dusters

Posted in Amusing, Design, Gadgets / Gear, Structure & Form by Michelle on September 8, 2010

Tamlin & The Fall

Never heard of this maker before but I’m digging their stuff. Would you buy any of these if you had the money? At least it’s made to order. They’re all lined with matte black American Alligator and signed – you don’t see this much anymore now that we mostly purchase mass-produced.

SILVER-PLATED ROCK MINAUDIERE, $7425.00

Nickels Have a Use

Posted in Design, DIY, For the House by Michelle on July 29, 2010

This is a Nickel Coin Bench created by Vermont based designer, Johnny Swing. Made out of  7,000 nickels welded together. If you purchased this bench, you’d be getting $350 back. Nice.

I’m loving the underside construction of metal rods as well. Check out more pics with the link.
