Chanel’s Version of the Platform

Posted in Shoes, Structure & Form by Michelle on January 4, 2011

Is this for real? WordPress says this is my 100th post? I must post a lot…

I love Chanel’s take on the platform for their Spring 2011 line. I especially love the knotted rib-caged platforms (below, at left) in yellow, black, and grey. I want! I want!!! The cutout at the heel totally revamps the old platform a la Skater Girl. Vintage inspired, no?

Ann Demeulemeester Headpieces

I’ve been continually eyeing these feather headpieces, by Ann Demeulemeester, for months and months – with no other reason than that they are so pretty. They’re of the few pieces of art I continually revisit, just to look at and sigh. At $700+ there’s no way I can afford it. Time to DIY it!

Tamlin & The Fall

Never heard of this maker before but I’m digging their stuff. Would you buy any of these if you had the money? At least it’s made to order. They’re all lined with matte black American Alligator and signed – you don’t see this much anymore now that we mostly purchase mass-produced.

Anti-Paparazzi Clutch Bag

Thanks to Chris for showing me this. My brother has been urging me to see the light on how technology can be successfully integrated with accessories. I totally believe it now with this anti-paparazzi purse!

Upon a flash from paparazzi bulbs, the clutch automatically emits a counter flash to obscure the photo being taken. Check out the details at AH Projects >> Anti-Paparazzi Clutch, developed by Adam Harvey.
