I don’t know how many times I’ve caught Into the Wild on HBO, but I can’t get tired of it. It is an excellently-made movie telling the story of a man who dared to live without money, society, and rules but the rules of his own. I am so amazed at how this man decided to live. I’m wondering how it would have turned out if he was able to write his book about his travels. Would it voucher him a win?

It seems that he had won over the influences of capitalism and the money-mongering mindset that is so prevalent–but only for a short while. But, can an individual really live for that long without having their society? Even our sick society. Because we are social creatures.

The question is… Can a person really survive with no ties to anything or anyone?
