Chanel’s Version of the Platform

Posted in Shoes, Structure & Form by Michelle on January 4, 2011

Is this for real? WordPress says this is my 100th post? I must post a lot…

I love Chanel’s take on the platform for their Spring 2011 line. I especially love the knotted rib-caged platforms (below, at left) in yellow, black, and grey. I want! I want!!! The cutout at the heel totally revamps the old platform a la Skater Girl. Vintage inspired, no?

Loving these shoes, like for real now. I see myself putting up lots of future posts from this shoe designer – Charlotte Olympia Dellal.

Check it out!

And my favorite….. I keep trying these shoes on, mentally.

Alexander Wang Polina Bearded Boot

This boot is hotness! The goat hair might need periodic combing to keep it shiny, silky, and lustrous. F/W 2010. $925 at Bergdorf Goodman.

McQueen’s Patchwork Calamity Sneakers

Posted in Shoes by Michelle on February 19, 2010

I’m not a sneaker person. The only pairs I have are…. black Rebook soccer sneakers that hurt, classic Pumas that are falling apart, Nike Shox that I “work out” in (i.e. walking to the supermarket), unworn tweed herringbone Converse’s that are too big, classic white Keds-like flats I bought from Target, and slip on Vans that are somewhere in Jersey.

Those Vans revolutionized my feelings for sneakers. I need to replace them! Possibly? With these??

At £315.00, probably not.
